Come for a guided walk by the shore of lovely Loch Ard. This is not an endurance march but rather an interesting outing during which your knowledeable guide will chat about some of the history of the area and also explain how how people utilised the natural resources which were growing all around them - whether for food or medicine, to make ropes or to thatch the roof. You may even sample a few leaves yourself. We will also visit the ruins of an old crofting township - almost certainly known to Rob Roy and certainly still inhabited when Sir Walter Scott first visited the area. |
| This walk will be at 2 pm on the following Tuesdays - 15th June, 13th & 27th July, 10th & 24th Aug, 7th Sep.
Meet by the Tourist Information Centre in the Aberfoyle car park from where we will drive our own cars about a mile along the road to the start of the walk. We will be on good tracks with only minimal ascent but please wear sensible footwear as the ground is uneven in places. Bring a waterproof jacket, just in case of rain. Distance is about 3.5 miles and we will take around 2 hours.
Although this is a free event, booking is essential. Click on Contact Us for details on how to do this. |
